View Full Version : What kind of temps do you have

I am just looking to compare what temps people are running, looking for people with a q6600 which I don't think too many people have, and have some water running on it. Trying to figure out if I have a bad mount, too much TIM, or the room is too warm.

I'm overclocked to 3.5 right now with 1.4 vcore, and on prime small FFTs I hit 60- 63c, the room temp is hovering around the 28c mark.
Idle temps are mid 30's

That sounds about right...especially since it's a quad. High vcore + high(ish) clocks = high temps. My e7200 at 4ghz, around 1.4vcore keeps me at 65C load with crappy fans...just got the new ones in now, fedex direct, they were even kind enough to play kick ball with my package..

At 3.6GHz & 1.4 Vcore I hit ~Low to mid 50's DegC. Load at 25degC Ambient.

The temperatures you are describing are actually quite good for a 28 Deg ambient and 1.4Vcore. I'll attribute that to your V2 or a superior Rad. I assume you have the quad nozzle on it? Your Delta Temp is pretty much what I would expect with the Vcore bumped up that high.

At 25 DegC ambient and a 3.83GHz overclock @ 1.5Vcore these were the results:

no quad nozzle yet, been waiting over 2 weeks now for that.

Well regardless, your temps are fine considering that high ambient.

I'll tell ya though, this DangerDen MC-TDX is a great performing block for the money. My V2 with quad nozzle should be here this week. We'll see if it's any better.

Btw. do you have any temperature results from anywhere near Room Temp? I'll bet your idling ~25 and Loading at ~45 yea?

At 3.6GHz with 1.52v (bios) I'm getting 58-59 on my hottest cores at full load. (Load temp calculated after 24 hours of prime with a 21-22*C room ambient temp.)

Its suppose to cool down with in the next couple day hopefully I can get this room cooler and compare. forgot to mention that it is a pretty new set up and been running for about 10-15 hours.

Jerkie, I think you must be running a similar VID chip as the one I'm running 1.265v. Is this correct? I notice a close parallel in our voltage to 3.6GHz and our temps under water.

Corruption, are you running one of the 1.325's? From your voltage to 3.6GHz it seems so. It also looks like you have GPU in the loop running through a single BIP3? If so, those temps aren't bad IMO. Thx.

the VID is 1.3000

My chip's VID is indeed 1.325v. I've been through about 4 of these chips all with a VID of 1.325v and this is the coolest and best overclocker out of the lot. And yes, I'm running my 8800GT in the same loop as the Q6600 with just one BIP3 and the fans running at 7v. At 7v my pump is louder than the fans and they're only pulling about 40cfm. I'm more than willing to add 3-4*C to my cpu's peak temp to keep my gfx card under 40*C at load. (With the stock cooler it would peak at about 90+*C. It's running cooler now and is overclocked. lol)

I can get my chip to run at 3.6GHz with much less voltage, but it's not 24hour prime stable if I do....since stability is #1 for me (no suicide benches yet...and folding needs stability) I'm more than happy to give it the volts needed to be stable for 3.6GHz.

i have the exact same setup basically, (block, cpu, overclock, voltage, VID) the only difference is my ambient temps are 20-22

There seems to be a fairly significant difference between the 1.3's and the 1.325's. Anyone else notice that from their forums readings? Anyway, IMO you have a solid chip there jerkie.

Nice, I'm surprised and glad that you can keep both processors at such nice temperatures with that loop. The triple Rad must do a good job, I've never tried one. And about the voltage. I can't get mine 24hr stable at 3.6Ghz unless I feed it 1.375v, but yes it will run games and internet etc at 3.125v(which happens to be my stable voltage for 3.2GHz).
And yep, SMP folding is a writeoff unless I give it the full 1.375v.
What I love about this processor is how low you can go on the Vcore and still run a 24hr prime stable 3.0GHz. This chip will do it at 1.2/1.167v. Talk about low temps on water when the ambient dips low at night.

And yea Spawn, I like your setup and your temps. I am envious. I'll have something for ya by friday though. Stay tuned in this forum.

well my room temp has dropped a bit down to 24c and it a little better
