Driver update

I'm thinking about getting the Catalyst 8.7 drivers for my HD2600XT. But will I see any performance gain over my tweaked 8.6 drivers I have now?

Also, if I do upgrade, do I need any kind of tool to completely remove the every trace of the old driver, or is that not necessary?

Its always better to use something like this:

To clean out anything left over from the old driver uninstall.
