I have a 160GB maxtor that I was using as a download/misc drive in my server. I had just fixed my torrent flow so the activity had just went up quite a bit in the last day or so. The night before I started getting read errors when I had used it so I decided to run scandisk on it. The OS(WIN2k) wanted to reboot to do so and now the drive is listed as unformatted, unknown size.
I have downloaded the maxtor diagnostic tool and it fails a couple of the tests, but so does its functional sister drive of the same model, different size(120) so I dont know if its a model thing. Also the drive is from a scrap computer so I do not know its former life.
Any thoughts?
