View Full Version : HDDs are 'loud' in my silent PC

So with some investigation, I've discovered that my 4 HDDs are the loudest part of the PC. I can have two run part time (ie. plug them in when I need to) but the other two will still be 'loud'. It's a pair of 7200.10 320s by the way. Anyway, I'd like to get the noise down, I can spare two 5 1/4 inch bays if I need to. Currently all four HDDs are in the included cosmos s HDD cage that has eight rubber suspenders, but I think I can do better.

You'll find that when you're silencing your system, ultimately your HDs will almost always be the loudest thing in your setup. The best thing you can try is suspension, check out silentpcreview forums on the topic. Or, you can be lazy like me and purchase a couple of these:
