i'm going to build a comp and i've chosen these things already
antec sx1040 with 400w psu
epox 8kha+ mobo
athlon xp 1800+ hopefully agkga-y stepping =)
2 256mb pc2100 crucial ddr sdram
creative sound blaster live value i think
ibm 60gxp 40gb hd
samsung 8x4x32x8 cdrw + dvd rom(i think speeds are correct)
already have geforce 3 ti 200
i hope to overclock to the extremes...also, should i get a dragonorb 3 or something and then get watercooling, or just go for it.
Don't buy Orb's..
They are there for looks the least you can do to use a decent heatsink while you wait for a water cooling rig is lapping your AMD Retail fan and then use ASII and your default temps should be mid 40's.
Your 512DDR is more expensive than your motherboard LOL.
I would suggest you buy 256 and wait for the prices to at least drop a little.
Get a burn-proof burner.
If your motherboard has a Via chipset than SoundBlaster isn't the greatest sound card to get and getting a Santa Cruz sound card will save alot of future frustrations.
Everything else looks great.

thx for the reply
i think i'm just going to change that optical drive into just a 56x cd rom...hehe i can just use my friends cd rw drives
i think it's a false fact but just to check, i heard that oem processors are unocable, but that should only be oem mobos are unoverclockable rite?

I don't like IBM drives, had 2 of the 40 gig 60 GXP's, BOTH failed with bad sectors etc. Get yourself an ATA133 Maxtor. Trust me.

yes i've also have an ibm that has gotta bad sectors, so i would go with someelse like a quantum.
As for the HS, look for the new alpha 8045 or it ur willing to spend more the Swiftech mcx462. Alo these setups will be louder than the orb. :D

Hmm, alpha on price, but swifty on performance. Your choice. Specially if your going to oc. My personal preference is the swifty.
