Sounblaster and VIA chipset.

My roommate is saying Soundblaster has a patch for VIA chipsets, is this true or will i still experience problems if i go the Sounblaster route instead of Gametheater? He is also saying Gametheater doesn't support Dolby Digital and isn't true 5.1... only emulated 5.1... any truth to this?

Yes to both questions, the latest VIA drivers and the latest Creative drivers from their site worked fine with my SB Live card.

My understanding is that many cards use emulated 5.1, I think even this turtle beach does I own, but I don't use surround. If surround is required, perhaps the Sound Blaster is a better choice.
