Hi. When I built my rig about 6 months ago I bought a PQI Power Series 2x2GB DDR2 800 kit. It took me a while to figure out that one of the sticks were faulty. My system ran well on just one 2GB stick, but I paid for 4GB because I want 4GB. I spent 10 bucks, RMA'd the kit to PQI (after Newegg's warranty), waited 3 weeks without my rig, and then got back another set of one working and one faulty stick. Needless to say, I'm done with PQI.
Instead of sitting with just 2GB, I decided to go for a new 2x2GB kit, but I'm not sure yet what to get.
I want a 2x2GB dual channel kit, a minimum of 800MHz and since there's no point in getting RAM that costs more than $100, a kit that will cost around that (don't mind paying less;)).
The 3 kits that I'm currently looking at are as follows:

Right now I'm leaning toward the OCZ because I really like those HPCs. I'm definitely open to other suggestions, so please let me know what you think.
BTW, my M/B supports 1.8V RAM, but I can just overvolt it for the 2.1V, right?
And also, once I get the new RAM, will I have to redo the overclocking, or can I just stick the new RAM in and see if it works?
Thanks in advance!
I'd go with the DDR1000 G.Skill

Wow. That's a great deal. I didn't realize it myself. Thanks.
I didn't really look at the Platinums because i had my eyes on the HPC, but in truth I don't know how practical the HPCs are. I'm still in the middle of OCing my system and I think that I might need to get a new HSF, and I don't know if a good HSF and the OCZ HPCs will fit together.
Anyway, do you know if the Platinum 1000 is good? Are just the specs (and price) nice, or do you know from experience that they're good?

How about these? I haven't really seen people mention Mushkin lately.

The timings are great, and the price isn't bad either.

OK. I think that I'm going to go for those OCZ Platinum 1000s that ratbuddy was awsome enough to show me. ($65 after shipping and MIR!:santa:)

I want to order today by about 4 EST, so if anyone has any further comments, PLEASE speak up now.

OCZ seem to be stubborn in some cases. I've been having some problems achieving 500FSB with some kits.
I would vote on the Gskills over the OCZ's.

From what I understand, E6750s do the best at a 1:1 ratio with the RAM. Since there's no way I'm going to be doing anywhere near 500MHz on my CPU, I'm probably going to be UNDERclocking it, not overclocking it. ;)
BTW, the RAM you're dealing with is the ddr2 800. This is the 1000, so 500 is not a OC.

Trust me, there's alot of ram that's rated @ 500 that will not, and you will have to underclock it. Thus is why I mentioned it.

You think that I would have problems getting them to 1000MHz?! If it's rated at 1000, shouldn't it reach that without a problem? I mean, you were able to get your 800s to 1000.
If this IS the case, then 'll definitely go for the G.Skills. But 800 or 1000? And the Mushkin? EDIT: And what about Patriot?

Ok, you read into it all wrong. There are ram sticks out there rated @ DDR2-1000 but there have been known issues that some of these sets do not run @ their rated speed that is stated. I, for one, had those issues with DDR2-1000 & DDR2-800. After several tries with different mobos' I had to send the ram in for replacements.
Yes, ram rated at certain speeds should run at it's advertised speed, but some don't. I cannot say that you you will have problems. This is fortelling the future.
I was able to overclock my ram because it's luck of the draw. There are no garantees of anything overclocking. I've had DDR2-800 ram that would not oc at all, but then i had other ram modules that overclock like crazy. Just luck of the draw.
Mushkin is pretty good. Gskill is better. Can't vouch for Patriot as I've never had any.

Oh. I didn't understand what you were saying.(We need a bashful smiley.)
In that case, sine I probably won't run the RAM at 500MHZ anyway, it's even less likely that I'll run into problems. And if I do, it's not the end of the world I can always RMA it (convincing myself).
So. Last time, now that all of the points have been made clear, G.Skill or OCZ?

Lol, ok here we go: If you're planning on ocing go with gskill, if not, then OCZ will do. I figured if you understood what I was saying, you would not repeat the question ;) Heck you can even go with some value ram if you're not gonna oc. Save some money too.

OK. In that case I'm going to go with the OCZ. (LOL with the value ram. I've had more than enough with that stuff.)
Thanks a ton everybody, especially Nebulous and ratbuddy! You were great helps.
