I just got in a new pair of PIII's 1000/133 sl5b3 and to my surprize they have heat speaders on them. I thought these were just for tualatins?

??

I was not aware of this...

SL5FQ/SL5B3 SL5B3 cD0 068A 256K 75 29.0 3,5,9,14

says it on their site, it's a coppermine .18 core made like a tullie :p

Lol... yah this is what caused the confusion about the supposed Coppermine-T...which obviously did not exist.

Wellll, considering they don't even make Pentium III's now, I highly doubt that it's a Coppermine. Just my $0.02. :)

its definitely a coppermine. just look over the s-spec sheet. although they may not be making p3s anymore... (except for tualatins)... they still have some left to sell. :D

I have a couple of those cpu's also.

They are coppermine PIII with heat spreaders.. but they are not tualatins.

Heat spreaders are not only for tualatins.

This cpu has an .18 core.. tualatins have .13 core

Was installing a p3 1000EB today and it had an IHS on it.

It was a Costa Rica retail...not sure about stepping.

Yep, I have a Costa Rica retail that Intel RMA'd me not too long ago. It's a 1000EB with an IHS on it (it's the SL5FQ). The package is marked FCPGA2, but it works in my SA6-R. I was confused too, but it's definitely a Coppermine, not a Tually.

hmmm, wonder if there's any other differences besides the IHS? They're still the cD0 stepping... anyone have any results with it yet? Overclockability?

As soon as I get a new AGP graphics card, I'll let ya know... mine crapped out on me due to an aggressive overclock. Whoops. I'm thinking of swapping the one that's in my Dell... heck, I'll never need it in there...

Yea I have 2 of em in a vp6 mobo and yea they are cD0. They hit 150 fsb easy, gone as high as 156 with retail cpu & HSF. The cpu clock don't go to high (w/7.5 multiplier) but the memory bandwidth is great! sandra 2002 says 1147MB/s 97% of bandwidth. I don't know whats up with the new sandra, memory score are much higher than before.

I also noticed that with the new version of Sandra... the old version showed 4xx by 5xx memory scores, the new version shows 10xx by 11xx scores... wtf?
Anyway, is heat your limiting factor in getting the CPU past 156 FSB? I'm looking to get a new 1.0GHz EB that will run 160 FSB.
