Guys, need help. I'm running raid 0 Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R board with ICH9R. I oopsed and booted with cmos default setting which took it of out Raid. It now says Volume o is "failed" and on member 0 "non-raid" and member 1 "member Disk". I've since changed cmos settings back as it was before. Still same problem. I know hard drives are good and data is still intact. I searched the web and read for hours but couldn't find a solution. How can I recover my Raid 0 setup.

welcome to the world of rain, seems like the gigabyte. unlike my DFI screws you if you change bios settings..

with my ICH9R on my dfi x38, i can change it all i want, as long as i do nothing to the drives, once i turn raid back on, tadda! everything is back how it was.

i think there is a thread over on xtremesystems on intel matrix raid recovery, will try to find it

and hence why you should store nothing valuable in a raid 0, let alone a software raid controller.

(unless you have a backup system in place)

raid is not a backup, especially raid 0

Exactly what he said...

As long as you haven't changed anything on the drives themselves, and set it back up how it was... it should all be there.

Very odd indeed if it doesn't perform that way, but then I never have had any success at all with Gigabyte boards myself.

If you've reversed whatever changes you've made already, and it aint fixed... I am unsure what to do.

(I take it you've been into Ctrl+I and checked that it is set correctly as well as BIOS???)

Thanks guys for your input. I saw in another forum that apparently Gigabyte seems to have a problem when the bios gets changed from RAID to default. DFI seems to have a better solution so it maybe be a better choice for those who want to use RAID. I did find software to recover data but had only marginal results. I think I'm done with Raid 0 for performance. I rebuilt my system with 1 150gb Raptor that a friend gave me for helping him build his new rig and it's a lot faster than the 2 250gb WD 7200 drives by far. I'll add another drive later to split up os and apps. Still like my Gigabyte board but will not use if I ever decide to use a Raid setup again. Has anyone had this problem with another board's Bios?

That is the risk we all take by running 0. just dont keep anything on it you worry about. i have been running raid 0 for my OS drive for about 5 years now. same 2 WD disks.
