How would it work to have a bong cooler with a capped top and several small holes drilled near the top through which the water vapor could escape?
The blue holes are where the water vapor would escape. The showerhead's visible as a point of reference.

you would definitely need a fan in there to aid in the evaporation process, as the holes without one will limit your ventilation into the bong which is what supplies the cooling *evaporation*.

why dont you just put the shower head on the ceiling and a lage tray/bowl on the floor?

Yes. It was a little late when I drew that piece of art, and I forgot to mention that the rest of the bong looks like any other bong; just the top is different.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, but why not just use a piece of mesh? Basically the only function of the top is to keep things from falling in and to minimize any errant spray. Do you see some advantage to this sort of top?
