I remember a while ago tom did a massive hsf review that included the silverado. Does anyone have one of those? I have never seen those anywhere. Are they really quiet/cold?

I've got one. You can pick them up at Plycon:

Yes, they are extremely quiet. For noise to cooling ratio, it's hard to beat. Overall cooling is good. It does keep the stock CPU's cool enough for daily work. However I would not get this cooler if you wanted to overclock.

To give you an example, under load, and with poor airflow, it keeps my 1.4 AMD around 47 - 55 degrees. Keep in mind 2 things with these temps: #1 The airflow is pretty bad since it's in an arcade cabinet:

And #2, to my knowledge, the 1.4's are one of the hottest chips out there. I'm starting to replace my 1.4's with the XP's. Not only are they faster, but they run 10 degrees cooler. I'm looking forward to see what the Silverado can do on an XP.

One of the great things about the Silverado is the mirror finish on the base, and is made of silver.

Hope that helps.
