I am about to assemble a computer, but before I buy all the parts, I thought I would run it by the experts to get your advice. This is my first time building a PC. I tried to do a lot of research in the hopes of building a solid PC that will meet my goals. My goals at a minimum are as follows. CPU overclocked at a minimum of 3.6Ghz. Two GPU’s in SLI that will handle any game on the market and perform well (this may be quit subjective). Have a watercooling system. Below is a draft list of all the items I can think of to assemble my PC. I would love to have some experienced PC guys let me know if this rig would allow me to achieve my goals laid out above and also to note if I am missing anything. As this is my first time assembling a PC, any comments or advice would be appreciated. Please keep the bashing to a minimum. Thanks

Last thing. My watercooling will be a single loop with one cpu and two gpu listed below. All other components in the watercooling system are below. Thanks

IMHO

  • Turf the Q6700 and get a Q9450
  • Turf the fullface water blocks, and get two Swiftech MCW60's and heatsink sets
  • Dont think you need a 1000w PSU but wouldn't take my word for it.

I prefer GPU water blocks that can be reused on new cards instead of full face blocks, and you'll be a lot more likely to hit and maintain a 3.6Ghz quadcore clock on a 45nm cpu.
