I've a ASUS P2B PII 350 MHZ. Sometimes it boots with 200 Mhz. The bios and CPU info util show speed 200Mhz. Next day it boots with normal speed. I tried the following:running as default (no o/c). The latest Bios 1012 (also tried 1014). set it back to Bios / setup defaults. O/c to 400 Mhz and this is the speed I use now. It didn't help.
Any help would be appreciated...
that's pretty strange!
I would check and clean every single jumper on the thing, then check the battery. Stuff like that- it might just be a slowly dying board, the P2B rocked but it's getting on in years. But I doubt it.
I think your board is "fading" away..

Thanks for the info. I'll try cleaning the jumpers before I throw it away and upgrade to a new mobo.
have you checked your cpu reading in wcpuid or si soft sandra?
sometimes when overclocking the bios does not read the cpu clock speed correctly
