Worth the upgrade? or wait?

Obviously this has gotten to be good competition between ATI and Nvidia finally, but my question is do I take a chance to grab a 4850 for $148 to replace my 8800gtx or not?

Unless you are waiting for the X2, then there is no reason to wait. You may as well get the 4850.

Though, your current card is pretty good, if you are unable to set AA/AF to a level you want, then the 4850 has a better chance to set those higher.

You should be able to sell your GTS for around $120.00 or so.
If the HD4850 is at least 15% faster than your current card -> go for it...

I always go by the general rule :

Unless the games you're playing are really chugging, no point in upgrading. You really will not see a night and day difference between those two cards, the 4850 is better, but not THAT much better.
