I'm one of the run and gun rambo style FPS players who likes nothing more than fast pace run around and kill everyone as quick as you can...but...Company of Heroes...it seems really cool. I've played Starcraft, never was good but it was good fun, very simple and easy to play. CoH is pretty damn hard but I love WWII and infantry combat...and seeing as you can play them in this...it's kinda fun.

My problem is so far I'm having trouble...uh....terms..."micro managing?" I have great reaction time and good aim with my mouse if that counts...but having that itch to just go kill everyone & thing doesn't work well in tactical games I see...any tips?

Play the Brits, Americans or Panzer Elite, they are the easier factions. Also play the campaigns it gives you the best training to then advance to multiplayer.

Look me up , "WolfdalePanzer" in COH.

Wehrmact is perhaps the hardest faction due to the counter system and weak squads (until vetted) .

most rts have at least one 'faction' that will allow for more reckless/do-or-die/rambo behaviour.

ADVANTAGE: pick up the bug for RTS and your FPS-equipped computer can possibly last you many many years before a major upgrade is necessary =)

that's based on the last decade or so anyway.

Well I hosted a LAN party the past couple of days, lots of CoH was played and I've come a long way and didn't do to bad. It was so much fun...one round lasted at least 4 hours...that's some serious dedication to play that long...my eyes haven't hurt that much in a LONG time...

Best RTS/FPS game I've ever played was the HL mod "Natural Selection". At least I think that's what it was called. Anyone else ever play it?

if you like attacking fast and suprising your enemy I would suggest using USA and choosing the paratroopers. They are quick and you can get behind enemy lines easy, plus you can reinforce them anywhere on the map. You can also drop the AT crews which are great against tanks.

I also just recently started playing CoH after playing it at a lan party. It's a great game. After playing a few matches with all of the factions, I started sticking to the Americans. I would try and stick to one faction to learn their unit's strengths and weaknesses because if you don't play to those, then your units get slaughtered.
