I Currently have a eVGA GeForce 7950 KO Super Clocked 512MB PCI-e Card.

I want to go ati but i havn't used ati in so long, i wouldn't want to go backwards ;p.

Advice?

i have a EP35-DS4 Gigabyte Board.

PS: Also want to go dual cards.
i want to be able to play 4 Conquer 2.0 Online Windows And 1 UT 3 As well.

I have the same motherboard as you and wanted to get 2 HD4870's but from what i have read it's just not worth it on a P35 board look at this http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=571156. If you want to xfire you will do best with a X48 or X38 chipset. I have decided to go with a single HD4870 as i think it will almost everything well.

I had the same GFX card, going to a single 4850 was a pretty big difference. :D

4850 is nice, and you can move to two of them in the future. Since you don't have an X38/48 board, you'll lose a little performance in crossfire, but only noticeable in higher resolutions.

i have my video card in my 2nd PCI-e slot. due to my memory cooler. should i ditch the memory cooler and move it up to the 1st slot?

imo not much point to dual cards unless you specifically need them for something.

A single 4850 will tie you over very well ;)

i moved the card up and now its at 16x :)

2nd slot is limited to 4x. That's why folks will say it will limit you if you decide to go x-fire later.

in that case,

you can consider to just simply hold off until new offerings show and then take advantage of them then. No point in upgrading if it can handle things on its own. :)

UT3 @ 1650x1080 Max Settings Runs Smooth. It was just before it wouldn't because it was only being 4x PCI-e :( moved card back to 16x and game is good!

Dang dude, the whole time it was at 4x. :)
Anyway, if you don't plan on getting a new motherboard get a single 4850 at least. If you feel like spending more get a 9800GX2 because those are selling for the same price as a 4870: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?p=5738857#post5738857
