My potential system includes:

GA-EP45C-DS3
OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 / 1066 MHz / Reaper HPC Edition / 4GB / Dual Channel

Now, perhaps this is not an issue at all, but since I'm kind of a beginner in this, I'll ask anyways...

the RAM has a (recommended?) voltage of 2.1-2.2V, the MB on the other hand has 4 slots for 1.8V DDR2 memory. Are these two compatible? Should I be worried? :-/

:welcome: to the forums!

1.8v on the board just means that is the "default" voltage, you can set it higher. Since the RAM is rated for 1066 @ 2.1v, my guess is they should do 800 @ 1.8v for the first time you start it up. Basically, you just need to force it to 2.1v and then change the RAM speed to its rated speed.

It will work with the motherboard but you have to set speed/voltage manually and have multiplier that goes that high. Without any adjustment to speed, memory will run at 1.8v and pc6400 speed
