Hi I just thought up a mod for my sk-6 and have completed it.. I have mounted a 80mm fan on a sk-6 the same way you would mount the 60mm but by using some special tools and clips.. I will write up a Manual with pics but before i do i was wondering how many people would be interested in such a thing..

*note i am not using a 80mm to 60mm adapter.

I have put an 80mm fan on my sk-6 by turning the fan a little and using the bigger bkts to hold the fan on, then used small tie wraps to make it secure. But I
would like to see how you did it

It is common knowledge that you can easily use an 80mm fan with the SK6, no manual needed. Just rotate the 80mm 45 degrees and use the stock clips.

no you do not understand i have mounted a 80mm fan on squared with the heatsink.. and its much more sturdier.. and safer... and looks better too

Post it please. I'd be interested in seeing your method compared to what I and others have done.

Items you will need:
4 Paper Clips
Pliers
Electrical Tape (optional)
Super Glue (optional)

I Personally could only take the noise from my ys-tech 8000rpm 52db loud fan for only so long my friends.. so I was reading my History book and I got hit with this Idea.

Step 1
Put Heatsink on flat sturdy surface

Step 2
Take 4 Paper Clips and Straighten it out all except for inside loop

Step 3
Place 80mm fan on top of Heatsink

Step 4
Take paper clip with bent end and put it through where the "standard" clips would go, then proceed to take straightened end and put through screw whole in 80mm fan, bend it over (or twist it) Proceed to do that to all 4 corners. If mounted tight enough with paper clips it will be stable but I opted to take it apart and then put super glue on the part of the 80mm fan that touched the heatsink and used electrical tape and taped from the 80mm to the heatsink so that the air wasn't just hitting the mobo.

thats it folks i did it in like 5 minutes first try.. temps staid the same for me cause my 80mm is 45cfm where as my ys-tech was 40cfm

if anything is unclear just say so and ill try to make it clearer.. I only wish i had a digi cam so i could show you.. it doesn't look that bad at all

I got lost on your explanation of the paper clip rigging. Sucks being a visual learner. Hope you can get pics, I'd really like to try out your method.

okay you take a paper clip, you unbend the first bend.. okay? now do it again and you are left with a "hook" so you put the hook where the bottom of the standard clips would be and the take the straight end of your paper clip and stick it through the screw hole on your fan.. and band so it hold the fan...

hows that??
