I just couldn't just sit idly and watch myself getting stomped by every Tom, Dick and Harry with a GPU2 card.
I've increased my ppd to almost 6k and I've gained no ground but I see a long freight train with lots of GPU2 clients coming up on me real fast. At least with this card I'll be able to gain some ground over all in the project and perhaps prevent myself from being stomped back down out of the top 50.

This card should keep me in double digit k ppd bliss for awhile until I get another one or two :D

Nice. I'm guilty of being one of the 'fellows' (not a Tom or a Harry) who passed you by. Now you'll probably return the favor :D Good luck and fold on.

I'm planning on overclocking the shader clock to over 2GHz and dropping the GPU and memory to 700MHz & 2GHz to reduce the power usage and temps a bit without affecting any gaming that much. I should be able to set up hardware profiles for different applications to make switching easier.
I can't really afford this card but I can't really afford not to get it LOL.
$200 for a 2nd gen 55nm GPU

By that time Tom, Dick and Harry will all have 4 cards :-/

Folding is in your blood...affects your thought processes & feelings of well being.
Perhaps the final project Stanford will throw at us will be "the cure"!
I just had my labs done, here's a snip of my CBC w/o differential:

What were your ABGs?
Arterial blood gas
pH
PaCO2
PaO2
CO3

I'll have to jab a needle in your wrist to draw from your radial artery :p
I'll get to do this next Tuesday to several hapless patients in the ICU and CCU. Muhahaha...

Only 2Ghz shaders? C'mon go for 2200-2400 ;)
Nice card if I didn't just get a 9800gtx KO I would be looking at the +'s for sure.

What is the overall length?
I need a video card, and I'm trying to decide what to buy.
My monitor is 1920x1200, so I can't cheap out.

It's the max size that will fit on a mother board. Double slot and 10" long which is the full width of the mobo. You'd want to make sure it doesn't cover anything you have to have like SATA ports. Luckily my Asus Commando has the SATA slots coming off with 90° angles towards the back edge.

Ok, too big. What are my other smaller options?

The day after that they will change the client to only run on 280's and you will have a brick to play with.....remember the x1950 pro, great card, don't work anymore, no guarantees. :bang head Oh look, I just notice in my sig...I used to have an x1950 pro...my my.

The 9800GT (8800GT rename) is going to come in a 55nm version and the original 65nm version. To spot the 55nm version you need to find the cards that have Hybrid Power capabilities. Besides the die shrink that's the only difference in the cards.

Well I got it today and it's folding away already. The new clients seem to work a lot better than the older ones did.
I OCed the shader clock to 2GHz but the system was unstable so I dropped it back to 1950MHz for now until I figure out how to get things stable at higher speeds. It was also running over 80°C with the stock standard 35% fan speed.
The display started to go black every few minutes and then recover from the driver crash. It seems I trashed 5 WUs in five minutes LOL while this was happening.
I underclocked the GPU and Memory a little bit to cut power usage and heat. I then ran my fan speed up to 66% where I can still barely hear it.
Now things seem much more stable and it's running @51°C running GPU2. I'll try for more shader clock once it's completed a few days worth of WUs.

I didn't see any of those values in my lab results; here's the tests they did:
OCCULT BLOOD, STOOL
URINALYSIS, AUTOMATED (WITH MICROSCOPY IF INDICATED, NO CULTURE
BLOOD UREA NITROGEN, SERUM
CREATININE, SERUM
ELECTROLYTES, SERUM
CBC WITHOUT DIFFERENTIAL
LIPID PANEL
TSH (THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE)
I notice that they didn't do a PSA test...like I had requested!

Speaking of PSA tests and prostate health in general...
Q: Why do some doctors use just one finger while others use two?
A: A second opinion :p
