I'm not quite sure what you're asking. 800Mhz ram??? Are you talking about RDRAM??? As far as I know there is no chipset that uses RDRAM on an AMD processor, and even if there were, I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole on an Athlon XP. According to your sig... you currently have a 1600+... why are you looking to upgrade so fast???

This thread is going to end up in debates some how I'm guessing.

AMD is only using DDR.............................
ONLY DDR
They don't use Rambus.

3dMark2001 4847@ 1024x768x32

This is what you need to work on next. Unless you're running 3dmark with antialiasing, that score is awfully low for your hardware specs.

My poor old 600e@800 along with my VT gf3-ti200 @220/500 gets about 5400 @1024x768x32.

Maybe you should focus on fixing your 3D.

As much as I'd like to convert Big_kid over to Intel, I see no reason to spend Big_bucks for a major upgrade right now. If you want a faster CPU, then just upgrade to an AMD XP 1900+ or something similar. If you're a gamer, then I have to agree with Rooski, something is holding you back with your 3Dmark2001 scores. I'd start with a newer video driver, like Detonator 2280 or 2311, also make sure you are using DirectX8.
