Due to popular demand we are placing a poll on what to name the slow team of crunchers. So without further ado put it to a vote and lets see what comes out.

I thought yatta has kind of run its course now, maybe a little worn out.
the humor in yatta will never die. its like new kids on the block. i can still laugh at them even though the band died years ago.

Just a short helper:
Make it something easy to write, so people don't get it wrong when they setup their clients. TRUST ME, someone will get it wrong the first time, and the longer the name the bigger the chance of someone making a mistake.

Same here, but I voted for The ISA Strikes back! Both are very good, and I think Yatta is over rated.

k, guys, I don't understand exactly what Yatta means, but the thing that made me laugh was the ISA strikes back, and that's what I voted for, though I don't have the old machine anymore...

Centipede got my vote. I love that old arcade game. And it makes good sense at a conceptial level too.. Also its a simple one word name (easy to type in the client).
My P1-166@200 is almost ready for action. Just gotta give it an OS.

i wish more people would vote. the team isn't looking very strong right now. btw i will eventually be getting the pentium pro 300 i mentioned about a month ago. i might add it to the slow team.

So as it stands now we will be naming the slow team after completely mindless drivel.
At least that is what I got from the Yatta video that Gandalf linked to.
This video is a waste of time for someone with nothing to do. Hell its a waste of time for someone undergoing Chinese water torture. You know, I'll bet you could use it for Chinese water torture.
At least Centipede has some meaning.
To the moderator: I was wondering why the name I came up with was not on the list? It is not really important, but I was just wondering.

I agree, but atleast there was a poll.

Yatta was a prank played on the members by the mods and the senior members. If you have seen the video then you know it can't be all about that. But it is very funny considering the behavior of the seniors during the prank.

I honestly think that the seniors enjoyed the Yatta thing more than anyone else but then it spread out of the Blue Room like a malignant tumour looking for a new home so that may be why.

That is not it!!!!!!! That is a flash project based on the song in the video. Do a search for yatta on this forum and there are several links to the original video, but be warned once you see it you will never be the same. :eek:

Searching for Yatta may help but it's littered into half of the threads in one way or another now. Kendans right - That flash thing isn't even close and it's not as strange as the Yatta video.

Of course all you have to do to start is to simply start folding under the name.
So the slow team's name is: Yatta
capital Y lowercase atta:D

Yeah... my roommates K6-2 500 is folding under the name Yatta right now..... We'll see how long it takes to do a WU, I'm guessing around thirty hours.

Wow when this thread was around a P200 was still a pretty cool CPU. :) But seriously what exactly happened to the Yatta project? After a long scan of our team stats I found Yatta @ #712 with 265.61 total points.
Sounds like it was pretty much DOA :(

WOW, you really had to dig into the past for this thread, Gnerma.;) There was a little controversy about being named Yatta; someone didn't like it and started a few rigs under "Team_Centipede" and the there was a little bull excrement about that until it was decided that a little competition between slow teams was cool, if I remember right. It looks like Team_Centipede won the race though as it has almost 3 times the points of Yatta(686.96).:)
Thread from the Past. My p200 died and then Yatta continued for a bit but the more new chips came out the more Yatta was forgotten about:( Team_Centipede kept pumping out WUs.

I had my dually Ppro's folding for yatta for a little while but interest was lost and I switched them over to my nic. There is another yatta thread with later posts I believe.
