Yup... 5 months after I sold my 360 and canceled my Xbox Live membership... it appears I'm still being charged.

I called them up and thought it was a done deal... a closer look at my monthly bill proves otherwise.

You can forget about me ever picking up another pay-to-play microsoft system.

Bah, I would never pay-to-play anything.

One, there are several one-time-payment, or even free, games out there that do my justice.
Two, crap like this happens and sometimes they double-dip.

For most multiplayer games you shouldn't need to pay-to-pay, you already payed for the game, though microsoft is coming up with new things like tranfering games from xbox360 to pc then charging pc players an xbox live memebership.

That's some balls

This is exactly why I never use my debit cards for pay to play stuff. I always buy prepaid cards now.

I had a subscription a while ago, I paid for a year and when the expiration was coming up, I called and said I wanted to just pay for 1 more month and that was it. They switched me to an auto-renewing month to month plan instead. 2 months passed before I noticed it, and it caused me to overdraw my account linked to that debit card. Microsoft said 'sorry not our fault' and my bank said 'sorry not our fault' .. Screw Live.

That's too bad guys. Sucks to hear. That's why I'm always cautious going month to month with ANYTHING. If it's a self renewing contract, they can get away with it because it's in fine print somewhere in the agreement that you signed when you subscribed to the service. You really have to be johnny-on-the-spot with canceling that crap before it goes through again.

I paid with a pre-paid credit card because I got it as a gift and even after the card ran out of money they still charged me. Actually, I have not checked to make sure they stopped charging me. I assumed they have because after I got my xbox back from repair, I was locked out of XBL.

No they're still charging you. I've heard this a lot today. I actually CALLED to cancel back in March and they were STILL charging me.

So there's a damned good chance they're still charging you.

You're just going to owe them money now and they might eventually send a credit agency after you.

When I traded in my 360 I called up to cancel my 3 months payment plan the person said whats the reason for cancelling I thought why ask me that you should except I want to cancel. I told him I traded my 360 for a PS3 he then said would I like to give my gamertag and account to someone else I said no it still have my bank details on it which you can't delete.

They didn't cancel it properly and I was paying for 3 months till I noticed they said they couldn't give me a refund until I mentioned trading standards and they instantly sent me a cheque. I cant understand why they won't let you delete your debit/credit cards to your account you can't even do it at the microsoft billing website.

I always used the prepaid 1 year subscriptions you can buy at every major retailer.. no probs ever.. but on your guys's note it's a damn shame that almost every company is resorting to shadier and shadier practices to scrape any and all dollar you have.. my local cell phone provider being my new trouble.. I signed up to thier 3500 text message a month service and they are charging me for every text I sent.. and I'm like ummm no way I'm paying for any texts I sent when I'm paying for your damn package and I'm under your 3500 a month limit. (I did get reimbursed after threatening to change providers).

Different story for me, this has happened more then once. I signed up for a month to month with Xboxlive when I first got my console last September. After I signed up for live, on a month to month, all I did was pay the initiall 7.99 or whatever it is and never paid again after that...

What I mean is that I paid that one fee, and did not get charged for like 6 months. Then a few months back I canceled it just in case and because I was not playing it anymore, but recently I just reactivated and its been about 2 weeks past due, and still have yet to be charged the monthly fee.

Yes its a gold account and not a silver .

Don't know what is going on but enjoying my free live service.
