Hi im new to overclocking and i have read about how to unlock it but how do u remove it to work on it? Thank you for taking the time to help out a noob!:)

Welcome!

what kind of heatsink do you have? there is a video in the AMD section that shows you how to do the new chips. check it out!

& yes you have to take off the heatsink.

umm, if u dont know how to take out a processor...it might not be a good idea to try to unlock it. Read about comps at the forums for a while, then try unlocking so u dont kill the processor.

First let me welcome you to the forums. Second before you remove the heatsink make sure you get some thermal compound for when you put it back together. Second there are some really good begginer guides on the front page. It would definitely be worth a read. When you are taking the heatsink off and putting it back on take your time and don't rush. If you have more questions just ask and try to include as much info about your system as possible. Good luck.

This is really, really good advice. Ask the guys here, I have personally killed 2 cpus and one video card.
