MY Asus P5B Deluxe (2) PCIEX16 slots are they the same as
PCI Express 2.0 x16 ???

Thanks

On that board Pci express is 1.x 16x. If you trying to put in graphic card with pci-e 2.0 it will work with this board.

I have seen several post that state
PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with PCI-E 1.0, so u can use a 8800GTS on P5B-E or any PCI-E 1.0 board

Are you sure that what you told me is correct??????

thanks

Yes, it is correct. I have a 9800GX2 which is a PCI-E 2.0 video card and it works just fine in my P5B Deluxe which only has PCI-E 1.x 16x capability.

PCI-E 2.0 is backwards compatible both ways. You can use a PCI-E 2.0 video card in a motherboard that is PCI-E 1.x capable, and you can use a PCI-E 1.x video card in a motherboard with a PCI-E 2.0 socket.
