OC Help for e8500 and ASUS Rampage

Hello,

New to this forum and fairly new to oc:ing. Dabbled some with my last computer (amd cpu and dfi mobo). Have a brand new system now with the following specs:

Mobo: ASUS Rampage Formula x48
CPU: e8500 3.16Ghz
Ram: 2 x 4gb OCZ Reaper ddr2 pc2-8500 1066mhz 5-5-5-18
CPU Cooler: Scythe Ninja
Chassi: Coolermaster Dominator
PSU: Corsair TX 650w
GPU: ATI 4870

Would really appreciate some help with detailed setting where to start with this system. No need to go for 4.5ghz+ etc, just want something decent.

If you have the time, pls post your setting and I will try em out and give some feedback, should help more than just me I would guess.

Also if anyone found a thread for this mobo/cpu/ram combo, please send it my way since I then missed it.

Just look at some of the sigs...most will usualy brag in their signature as to their settings, and parts used...my sig contains a few settings, but if you look at the overclocking guides, you can find some really usefull settings, and you might go further than you would have had you not read the guides....go into the cpu section of the forum, and on the intel side you will find a guide called "overclocking C2D and Quads" or something like that. I guarantee that if you read that one thread, you will come away with a good plan for a successfull overclock.

Yeah been reading ALOT Problem I have is translating generic settings to what to change into the ASUS extreme tweaker settings, they have ALOT to change.

Also I am very unsure about my memory. Tried the settings below which seemed very moderate but couldnt post with them. My mem also shows 3:4 with those, any hints there?

Btw I have the latest bios update (0403).
