well speed that reeeaally depends on your cable provider rather than modem.... If there are alot of ppl on at any one time, then your internet connection will be kinda slow. :D

I think they all are about the same speedwise but some supposidly have a lot fewer problems. Ive got the motorola surfboard and havn't had a problem yet and am very pleased.

yes the amount of problems, if there are any may also depend on your provider. Like my provider, @home didnt support my original modem, the 3com shark fin and so i constantly had random disconnects. But now i have the toshiba pcx1100u and everything works just fine. :p
