Hey guys,

I have the rig in my sig currently hooked up via the RCA style HDTV,
The TV is a Mitsubishi model WD-52525 with a native resolution of 720p errr 1280x720...

While it looks pretty good withe the HD input, its kinda blury with text in windows. Games and videos are badass tho.

However, when I try to use the VGA PC input, its pixel for pixel detail, nice and exact. But its like the video output, or resolution is bigger than the actual screen...its off scale, like I cant see the whole screen, it runs off the screen.
The HDTV output is spot on, Ive tried messing with the caytlist driver options with no real luck... I think Im mssing something here.

Can you guy help me?

The TV does support HDMI input, would that be better than going DVI-VGA-TV? Just straight HDMI from the card via the supplied adapter to the TVs HDMI? I dont have an HDMI cord right now, but I can pick one up if you guys think it would be worth a shot...?

Yeh iv noticed that with a 720p tv as well... games are spot on but text isnt quite up to scratch... i would give the HDMI cable a try, they arnt expensive... but unfortunatly for me my 50" plasma tv is old now and doesnt have HDMI.... sigh...

the problem you are running into is overscan. This was a common issue with earlier projection TVs, especialy CRTs. What is happening is that the 1280x720 pixel is actually projected off the edges of the visible screen. This was done so that the signal would take the whole visible canvas, at the expense of losing a couple of inches on each side. With video it is not so much as a problem as a desktop screen that requires an exact resolution.

There are two ways to go about this, both require the use of RivaTuner, a free video setup program. You can either adjust the scan frequencies being output to the TV, so that the image resizes correctly, or set a custom resolution that is slightly higher than 1280x720. The second way is a little easier to implement, an might allow you to run 1366x768. Part of the image will get cropped by the TV canvas, and should leave you with at least 1280x720 viewable.

edit:

I just noticed you have HDMI input. I would try that first, and use a DVI>HDMI adapter.

find the manual first make sure that the tv's extra HDMI port supports pc's. i found that out the hard way on my Samyy DLP, so i couldnt use HDMI i had to use vga. then adjusted the vga input on screen still doesnt fill it out all the way but it not much of a issue to me. yea when i was using the DVI to hdmi it was overscanning bad, even at 720P.

Hmmm... I figured out how to get the TVs HDMI hooked up, and recongnized (its kinda funky), but it only looks a bit better than the RCA style HD... Its spot on the 1248x720 res though, just text is still kinda pixelated.

I guess I might have to try the VGA and adjust it with riva tuner.
This HDMi will work for now, but Id like to try for a better picture still if I can get it, this rig is the main one for the whole house.
