I managed to find some Netgear FA310TX NICs for US$11 a peice. They don't have any special features like WOL, but I'm still very happy with them.
Looks like you can get one for as little as US$9 + US$7 shipping on pricewatch.com. Just check resellerratings.com before you buy.

I have had my NetGear FA310TX or something like that in one of my computers for like two years, and performance-wise I can tell no difference between it and my 3com. 3com has more features, but it has the price tag to go with them. The NetGear should be fine for your needs. But remember, get what you feel is best, don't listen to me. :D

Price for me is an issue too. ;) I would buy whatever is on promotion at either Bestbuy, Compusa, Circuit City, or other computer stores. Especially, if it's Free~! Anyway, I have tried Netgear, Linksys, and D-Link in the systems here. They all work fine.
