OK so I want to know how reasonable this idea is. Money is tight and I'm thinking about my new rig I'm gonna get in a month or two.

I have the setup to water cool my opteron, can I adapt it to cool a dual or quad core intel? Crazy overclocks not needed.

I have the brass top TDX water block for my opteron socket 939. Can I buy or create an adapter to allow it to fit a new LGA 775 socket?

I haven't had much luck searching for this. As far as the waterblock goes it should be able to handle this task right?

Does anyone have the measurements on both sockets? Its there a good technical diagram out there? Like the holes in the mobo where the bolts go.

I'm only at this job for the next week and a half, I can use some tools here to create my own adapter if I can just get an adapter plate created in visio.

DangerDen sells different tops for the TDX and RBX blocks for the different sockets. Here's the page link (http://www.dangerden.com/store/product.php?productid=102&cat=40&page=1) for your TDX block.

I've been contemplating getting me the 775 top for my RBX block myself.

I did this with my TDX and it works great. I would put in the notes to make sure they include a hold down kit as mine arrived without one and I had to request one (2week wait)

just a thought

haha sweet. I guess I was just looking in the wrong places on their site. Thanks. Always trying to go about things the hard way.... :)

Ah here is a good review I think of the differences between the 2 blocks if anyone interested. Looks like the difference isn't that much between the 2 TDXs.
