My work currently has an IBM x3650 Server. We only have 1hdd but it seems like it is forcing us to use RAID. Is there anyway to disable RAID or does it have to be enable for the HDD to work?

go into the raid bios, you should be able to set it up from there.
I think that is an adaptec based machine. I don't think it is using an LSI card in there.

I didn't see any option to disable RAID in the bios when i looked. It also forces me to make the 1hdd into a RAID array

are you looking in the system bios or the raid card bios?
You should be able to remove the drive from a virtual disk and leave it as standalone

Not disable, just don't add it to a virtual drive or array
Depending on the level of the ServeRAID BIOS, you may need to create a RAID 0 array for it to initialize the disk. Make sure that you download the latest supported ServeRAID utilities CD first. You need to use that to set up the drives.

I found that in the bios> advanced settings> pci interrupts> ENET1 was set to IRQ3 and SATA was set to IRQ3 with the auto settings? Am i crazy or are the defaults just wrong?
