I'm wondering if OCZ is just going to axe their original Core series or if the V2's are going to cost a lot more.

I mean OCZ brought out the first Core SSD's like 45 days ago heh.

Do we have any idea on the price of these things?

And with the mini usb for updates, there is no reason not to get them because *fingers crossed* fireware can only make them go faster!. :)

meh, if all that's happening is the peak numbers are changing I won't sell my stuff but if the average speeds are going up a good bit I'll sell my drive and take a small hit.

What's the lifespan of these things? And warranty?

For now, i think I'm keeping my Velociraptor... looking forward to the day SSDs do become the norm - especially for laptops...

2 year warranty

slc 50 years.
mlc, currently unknown.
based on write endurance on chips, it can be 5 years.

these are made to be replaced as normal harddrives in 3 years or so.
I change more often than that but I like to keep up with hardware.

Getting a velociraptor this week, it will keep me feed until ssd make sense for my use.

SSD's tend to have flat performance curves, and superior random access.
