View Full Version : RMA ing an Intel chip
Burning Phoenix

Approx. 3 weeks ago my system refused to boot. I had never burned an Intel chip before , only motherboards. So i automatically bought another P4 board. Well guess what it still didn't boot. I was really mad that i spent $150 to get another motherboard i didn't need. Another week went by with no computer and i eventually bought a 1.8 (current) chip. Well that made my system run again. Anyways i last week called Intel for a replacement and it went fairly quick with just a few questions and then they emailed me with detailed instructions on how to return it. I sent the chip via USPS Priority mail and i just received my new retail boxed P4 1.7 today! That was only 8 working days turn around including delivery time. I am so glad that went quick for I have returned ASUS products many times and they average 4 - 6 weeks.
great to hear
i will be sure to burn my P4 1.7 giger up before my 3 year warranty
if i do it right, they won't be able to send me anything less than a 2 giger
or better yet a 1.7 with better stepping for overclocking
you never know

I RMAed a 1Ghz PIII (defective L2 cache) before I got this one. I started out with a Philippines cCo, and ended up with a Costa Rica cDo. hehehe... I sent the bad one via FedEx and I got the new one inside of 3 days... they overnighted it to me. Very nice.
Intel and Microsoft are fairly fast at RMAing.
I RMAed a WD drive and it took one week for them to process then they shipped and I had to call UPS since they had problems finding my house when their location was a 5 minute drive away.
Microsoft is nice too, there was a story I read before someones Mouse had died and they just shipped them a new one within 3 days and they didn't ship the mouse to Microsoft to be inspected.
