hi, i have this problem that i cant see the land graphics in the game. land , grass, the pathways within the grassy areas, nothing just white color. and even water is white hills are white so that trees on the hill looks like in the air, what is the problem with the game (screenshots are at the end of the post).
i m running this game on my laptop Acer Aspire 5715Z, which has dual core 1.86Ghz cpu model T2390, 2GB Ram, and Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, drivers are latest from intel site, and i m using WinXP directX 9c.
this laptop runs this game nicely, showing all the graphics, which i seen on a couple of websites which were benchmarking this laptop, but i don't know what happend with mine, should i upgrade direct X 9c, to a latest updated 9c ?? as i have disabled windows update so directx isn't updated.
what u guyz suggest.

obile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, thats ur problem right there dude
My son was having the same problem a while back with a couple different games:
Quake 4, Serious Sam 2, and UT2004 all were doing the same thing. He using a Dell laptop with the nVidia GeForce Go 5600, if I recall.
After a few attempts at driver/software updates, we ended up dropping the resolution to 1024x768 and it took care of it.
Also, running the latest DirectX is never a bad thing, and certainly won't hurt. Might even improve gameplay.
Hope this helps.

Please post something useful next time.
Back on topic, I've had various problems with running Far Cry on the system in my sig, same as yours - massive graphics problems - but I've yet to find a way around it :bang head

Is there a way to try to make it run using dx8?
Also, it could be caused by your gpu not supporting high enough resolution textures that are used on the ground.

If you haven't already (I can't tell by those screenshots) try dropping all the graphics settings to their absolute lowest and go from there.

Don't forget to DL the patch for Farcry. The game can't run right without it.

installed directX9c updated to march2008 started game but no gain in the graphics, so had to play with the settings, in game video options changed resolution to every other option still no gain, then i stayed at low resolution of 1024x768, then went to advance options and changed texture quality from low to "medium" while game was on and did it just going to options menu by pressing the escape key inside game, what happened was land was visible with small improvement as below,
http://www.geocities.com/awaysahmad4u/texturemed.jpg
then i increased the texture quality to "high" and then to "very high" but nothing more was for me there, so i changed this option back to "medium" and closed the game to restart, as changing the texture quality poped up a menu to say restart the game to better see improvements of ur change. thats what i wanted to c.
so i restarted the game, and voila here i can see some grass now,

although textures for the land were still not there but previous little improvement in the land textures and this apprearance of the grass gave me a little hope to play more with the settings, its 4 in the late night or its very little time to dawn, i think i have to sleep now, hmmmm or i have to play more, hmmmm don't know what to do, mom will kill me if i slept for long in the day, hmmm. i think should b in the day or may b in the comming night, and may b some soul can come to me in my dreams to guide me to the right settings for the game ;) hmm may b game creaters soul, hmm hope so. well thanks guyz for giving me hope to do some tweaking.

Hey man I think your problem lies with the lighting/shadowing. Turn them off or to low.
That GPU should run the game, but I think it has real problems trying to process the lighting/shodowing features of the game.

I'm at work now, so the company firewall pretty much blocks out all the game sites. I will look for the patch tonight at home. I remembered running into the same exact problem. Farcry has all the shader, pixel issues prior to installing the patch.

Yeh. Get the FC 1.3 patch, at the minimum, that is what you should install.

When using an Intel graphics chip, you should always start out with lowest settings, and work your way up. These GPUs are very lacking in many features.
