Media Files in XP

In Windows XP, every time I play a media file in either The Playa (for Divx), or Windows Media Player, explorer.exe goes nuts, takes my CPU hostage and starts filling up all memory. Can anyone explain why? I just reformatted my computer a few days ago after this problem started, but it came back.

i've asked about this myself, and most of the replies i got centered around the "xp works much better with at least 512 ram" theory. i can't say i totally agree, but i'm at my end, and will be grabbing another 256 as soon as i can scrap a few bucks together.

I figured out with my latest reinstall of XP that you need the latest version of The Playa to fix that problem. There must be some ncompatibility with the previous versions.
