I know this is a little risky, but I'm wanting to add a peltier to my swiftech mc462 on a 1.4 tbird. If anyone knows a good wattage for a peltier for this configuration, and a link to the site with the peltier, it'd be great. I've seen some nice 118w peltiers at leufkentechnologies.com, but I wanted to see what everyone here thought. Thanks!

I would never put an aircooled peltier on a T-bird. The T-bird puts out way to much heat for this type of thing. The only way to go would be with a water cooled peltier. For a P3 you could easily get away wtih a 72-80 watt aircooled peltier. If you do't have a way to remove the extra heat from the peltier you will be adding even more heta to the processor.

he's definitely right, you won't wanna use a heatsink of any type to cool a 100w or better peltier, there simply isn't enough heat dissipation ability in heatsinks for this application. and any peltier less than 100w will not be enough for that tbird, go watercooled or don't do it at all, the swifty should be enough cooling for that tbird, temps shouldn't be more than 45c at all with that cooler, depending upon your room temp.

ok, thanks for the help
Definitely a good choice as to not mount a peltier since you'll be adding more heat.. Never use a peltier air cooled on tbirds...
Athlon XP Series is ok since they don't put as much heat as those Tbirds.
