View Full Version : Best CD-RW, Yamaha?
Is the 20x10x40 by Yamaha the best right now? I know Plextor's quality is very good, but was really looking at the Yamaha. Thanks, Kent :)

and btw.. then Fastest out Right now is 24X.....
Yamaha is good enough to get the job done but if you can dish out some more money for quality go for; Plextor(Obviously...), TDK or Lite-On.

yamaha unlike almost all over cd writers has a burnproof technology called p-cav in which simply makes the drive use a constant angular velocity and therfore math the ability of a cd rom to read a cd.
whereas other drives like plextor and lite-on etc use link technology where the quality of the cd is reduced even when the burnproof protection has not been required.
also the yamaha has a special mode call audio mastering designed for making extra high quality cds for use in older machines.

I also have the Yamaha 20x/10x/40x. I burned a CD in like 4 minutes. I've only used it about 3 times so far though..

I don't really don't think they will go higher then 40x they would need to work on the dvd-writer speeds...But haveing said that how come each year they come out with a burner that 3 times as fast? Geeez just make on 20x burner and not go up like 8x,12x,16x,24x

the Cd-rw speed is still weak.....But Dvd-Rom burners are Dvd player alble to read the dvd disc you burn on a Dvd writer? Because the Dvd player I have right now has a big problem with Video Cd's it can read them but it sometime is not very viewable.... Like when you change the image the last image you viewed is still on the screen.
