P5Q3 Memory Issues?

I hear the P5Q3 can't handle 2GB DDR3-1600 RAM sticks, or they have to be underclocked to make it work?

What then is the best DDR3 motherboard out these days? I'm planning on getting a Q9550 for CPU and HD 4870x2 for GPU. I was going to get the OCZ 2GBx2 but lots of people say there are mad issues with this combo? Or is that in the past?

I don't mind paying more for a good board.
