I've been planning my gaming computer for a while and decided on the new dual ati 4870 x2 as the best one to use. The current price is about $550...do you think this will ge down at all by christmas (when im building my comp with nehalem and intel x58). also out of all the new egg models and brands of this perticular chip, which is the best, or are they all the same?

It probably would decrease by like $100 or 150, just my guess.

I think the drop will be around 80$ and a little more if nvidia throws something very competitive in the market.

Prices seems pretty high, I think we'll see it going for $450 in a month.

If you think about it it's actually a pretty good deal already compared to 2 4870's. They would cost maybe $30 more and have half the usable memory, use up more space and power, be harder to cool, perform worse, and require a more expensive motherboard.
