ive been looking through intel's website for a datasheet that can tell me what the lowest clock speed 512k cache Northwood is.

since that one would be the cheapest (logically...i hope), i want to see what the lowest one is so i can start looking.

thanks.

according to the front page at www.overclockers.com it's the 1.6 and 1.8 versions. also supposedly wont be easy to get ahold of one of these.

The lower speed Northwoods might be a little tough to find at first, but by the end of January, they should be more plentiful.

well i dont really plan on buying one before april anyways, any leads to how much it will cost in CDN$?

and are they decent overclockers? (ie. 16*133=2128 possible?)

thanks for the info!

200-250 Dollars USD for a 1.8 Northwood is about 316 - 395 dollars Canadian.

Well, since lots of the older Willy P-4s were able to hit 2.1 to 2.2 gig, I'd say the Northwoods should have no problem reaching at least 2.4 gig. Several hardware review sites have reached 2.5 to 2.6 gig with the Northwoods already.

a 512k cache 2.1-2.2 ghz BEAST of an intel chip sounds mighty fine for 390$ ish dollars CDN.

now im really looking forward to the next few months.:D
