View Full Version : Watercooling for S478?
I've been looking into some water-cooling for a S478 system I'm going to build. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough yet but I can't find anyone who sells S478 water-cooling kits. If anyone has a link or has had experience with cooling the S478 plz post and let me hear about it! By the way this will be my 4th S478 I've built but the first water-cooled system so I could use some advice if anyone has some(and I'm sure you do).
Thanks!
welcome to the forum.
dangerden.com comes highly recommended for water-cooling kits. get a water-wetter for protection from corrosion, bacteria buildup and etc... heater core for a radiator works the best.
I second DangerDen as they just release their S478 blocks and the equipment like pumps are pretty self-explanitory to get and stuff.
I like Overclockershideout's Z4 block for the socket 478.

I wouldn't buy from Overclockers Hideout as I heard bad feedback as they are greedy for money, since they charge your credit card the next day and ship in weeks.
I have ordered from them 5 times without a problem. Have you yourself had any problems?

What processor are you planning to cool?
I was going to wait and buy a S478 Northwood, maybe in the 2-2.2GhZ range. Since I won't have the time to construct everything till May I think the price of the Northwood should be coming down quite a bit.

i would go for danger den, but wait to see if they change the waterblock for the northwood
DangerDen looks pretty sweet to me, I visited the site last night and I think I may go with them.

I use the Z4 waterblock. My radiator is the Cube from dangerden and fits perfect in my Antec case. Water is pumped through using the Eheim 1048. Very quiet and does it's job well. I plan to upgrade to the Northwood chip soon also. I think the block will work with the Northwood too.
