OK... I'm going to let my friend Jeremy do this thread because he's here right now, and it's his computer with the problem :D

[begin long monlouge... :D]
Story:

At the beginning of the summer with some computer experience decided to rebuild my PIII 600 into an athlon 1100 Mhz. Then I decided to overclock my 1100. I acomplished my task using stock cooling and made a 9% increase in speed to 1200, which was the best I could do. Then one day about 2 1/2 months later I decided to install a HD cooling kit and I opened up the my computer. I have an HP case that restricts additional computer components. I had to slide out the removable drive bay cage to install it. But then i made a stupid mistake after installing the cooler, my computer was on and i pushed in the bay to get it out of my way so i could see the monitor. Just when i did that The computer went poof and was nevermore.

Problem:

Im Having a problem with my savage 4 and my K7VZA motherboard It seems that my Motherboard and video card don't like each other. When I put my video card into another computer it works and my motherboard works with a different video card but they seem to hate each other and cause complete chaos. It refuses to boot, so it's not anything with Windows, and I have checked the BIOS and reset the AGP settings back to 2x (the minimum) to try to force it to work. No go.

[end monolouge...]

Anybody got some ideas?
By the way... Mods, please treat this like a newbie post because I simply let him type the message. He thinks it's more video card related, so that's why it's here instead of general hardware. Let's see....

try clocking back to default and clearing CMOS, by pulling the battery out of the mobo and leaving it out for 15-20 mintues....then put it back in...

also on a side note...try ocing that PIII600 as well...i have no doubt that you can hit 800:)...

OK, I'm back with some comments from Jeremy (with the problem).

1) Tried clearing the CMOS sevral times, but it never worked.

2) He can't set the CPU back to default speed bacause it uses jumpers (ick!) and he can't find them in his manual for some reason...

3) I lent him my old Trio64 PCI video card, and it seems to work intermittantly, along with another 2x AGP card he has.

4) His poor P3-600 fried, and that's why he redid his system.

Personally, I'm starting to lean toward a mobo problem now...
Any other suggestions for me to try to talk out over the phone?

what video memory cache mode r u using? if u have this option available in the bios try setting it to UC instead of USWC.
also, reset all the agp settings, not only the interface. disable fast writes, sideband addressing and all those stuff and use one default size for the agp aperture, 64.

My guess would be that you NEED to set your clock speeds back to default, Older cards use different bus speeds(cant remember what exactly, 33mhz or 66mhz or sumthin) this problem has happened to me many-a times, "set it back to default" You could put in an old video card and go to the MoBo manufacturers Website and download the manual, most likely in PDF form, damn those PDF's! Just try that, even if you dont think it will work, cant hurt tryin.
