View Full Version : danger den water block maze1
I just got my maze1 water block. How can I confirm that I got the 1/2" fitting water block that I ordered? Do I measure the outer diameter (which is 1/2" from my measurement) or the inner diameter ( 3/8" in this case?.
thanks.
It should be the OD that is 1/2" so it sounds like you got the correct block.
thanks Bender. now if only my mag drive can get here...waiting sucks.

If you are waiting around, then bore out those 1/4" NPT x 1/2" fittings so that you get more flow thorugh them :)
Gret idea pHaestus see how its done Here (http://www.ocmod.com/code/show_art.php?id=19&pg=1)
Along with drilling out the fittings, chamfering the edges helps. I believe Danger Den takes great care to find barbs with the largest ID availble.
BTW, a hearty welcome to the forums pHaestus from Mr. Thompson. It's good to see you here. :D

Thanks for the welcome. This seems a pretty agreeable place so far. :)
Since I have hijacked this thread with talk of fittings, where can I buy 1/4" NPT x 1/2" barbs locally? Neither the Lowe's or Home Depot or Ace Hardware sells them and I need one more for a waterblock I want to try out...
pHaestus check your Home depot and Ace hardware again. I have both in my area and they carry hose barbs. Ask someone at the strore because they should have them.

Yea they have barbs, and I can get 3/8" NPT x 1/2" barb, but the 1/4" ones (like on most waterblocks) are a rare item. They didn't have them at home depot or lowe's and they couldn't even special order them at Ace. I can get them at mcmaster-carr, but I'd have to order 10 at a time I think.
