Best Express Wireless Network Card

Hey, I need a good wireless card for my vostro 1500... I hope I can do better then the broadcom in it now. It needs to be USB or express format which probably isnt the best expansion slots for this but yeah.. I need help!

What's wrong with the internal one?

Well I require something that can get signal from a farther distance. Possibly for a dorm enviroment. I want the best possible reception.

Unfortunately, internal cards (unless you specifically picked an ultra-crappy one) are generally as good as it gets.

The only exception is if you picked a wireless G adapter and you know for a fact that the network you're pulling off of is wireless N (which generally has a much better range.)


If that's the case, I'd look at a slot card or better yet upgraded internal card to take advantage of your internal antennas. Try to avoid USB antennas, on laptops they generally don't operate quite as well as the others in some situations.
