I would like to thank Gigabyte for sending me this motherboard to test.

Gigabyte's extreme-overclocking motherboard has almost too many features to list. From Gigabyte's website:

1. Revolution energy saving design with DES Advanced featuring hardware based Dynamic 6-Gear switching
2. Supports 45nm Intel® Core™ 2 multi-core processors with FSB 1600 MHz
3. Dual Channel DDR3 1900(O.C.) for remarkable system performance
4. Advanced power phase design with virtual 12 power phases to provides highly efficient operation for 45nm CPU
5. Embedded 2 power phases for NB chipset and 2 phases for memory power to excel at power efficiency
6. 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 graphic interface plus PCI-E x4 with CrossFireX ™ support for ultimate graphics performance
7. Hardware Overvoltage Control IC Provides more voltage control options on CPU, North bridge and memory
8. All Copper Heat pipe/Heat sink connecting NB, SB, and MOSFET and extra Hybrid Silent-Pipe design provides 30% cooler thermal performance
9. Professed onboard Debug LED and OV-Alert LED, OC-Alert LED, TMP-Alert LED allows user to easily catch on to PC status
10. 2 Gigabit Ethernet LAN with Teaming functionality
11. Supports Dolby Home Theater® audio to create a stunning surround sound listening experience.
12. DualBIOS solution gives a multiple security to the system
13. Power/reset/Clr CMOS onboard button for easily operation on th workbench
14. Maximum CPU keep out zone for extreme CPU cooling
15. Blu-ray playback outputs supported by high quality 106dB SNR ALC889A HD audio

Very attractive packaging.

Great board layout. It's uncluttered and everything is easy to get to.
Hybrid Silent-Pipe allows for both better air cooling, and water cooling.

Included accessories.

Onboard power and reset switches make running without a case much easier.
An onboard debug LED, removes the need for a pci debug card.

Out back we have eight USB ports, and dual gigabit lan. Gigabyte also added a clear CMOS button on the back. This way you don't have to open your case.

Lots of copper on this board to keep things nice and cool.

Results (still in progress)

Test setup:
CPU - Intel e8600
CPU Cooling - Thermalright Ultra-120, Panaflo FBA12G12U
Board - Gigabyte EP45T-Extreme
RAM - Crucial PC3 8500
GPU - Gigabyte HD 4850
OS HDD - 36gb WD Raptor
PSU - Gigabyte 1200w

I benched 3DMark 03 for several hours the other night at 590 fsb without a hiccup. Took the #1 score for 4850 in 3DMark03 too.

Benching 3D over 600mhz.

620 fsb for Super PI was effortless. Impressive considering no aftermarket cooling of the northbridge.

*New results*

Keeps the fast fsb numbers when some actual CPU speed is added to the mix.

Not having dual 16x pci-e slots didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.

Add some CPU clocks and some tight RAM timings and...

Nice review... nice overclocks. Gigabyte is a maker I still have not tried yet. Hope to change that someday.

Can you get to run memtest with sata set to ahci? I got ex38 and it won't load memtest or acronis when sata is set to ahci, it stops at loading. I wondering if it prevalent feature on gigabyte boards these days

Thanks for the great review.

Sigh @ Gigabyte's colors on every mobo

Hahaha I second that. It looks like they took clown suit colors and applied it to mobo's. Man Gigabyte has really been stepping up their game though
