What's it mean when my entire display shifts everything into the "green" spectrum??? For about 3 minutes just now it looked like I had a translucent green sheet in front of my monitor. I thought the monitor might be dying but it's not given any sign before. I went to de-overclock the video card, which isn't overclocked too much as it is, but before I could even get to the settings (I was paralyzed with dread for much of that 3 minutes) everything reverted back to normal. I did manage to rattle the cables before it reverted so I know it isn't a loose connection. Any ideas??? It's an ATI Rage Fury Pro with VIVO.

The monitor i had before this one did that, but it went blue. It would do it for a short while, then went back to normal, then blue again. Its as if i had a blue tint on my screen, like car windows. Mine didnt show any signs and it suddenly went blue, best thing is, try another monitor and see if it does it again or try that monitor on another computer.

I had the same problem before with a blue tint coming up.I had a monitor color tuner program installed and then deleted it.After I deleted it the color was fine again.

My monitor turns a strange yellow color whenever the cable isn't placed 'just so'. You're cable might be wearing out, so I would check it with annother monitor if you can.

Yeah, I'd definitely say it's a cable problem. Try messing with the connector where it plugs into the video card to see if it's loose, first of all. If it isn't loose, or jiggling the connector doesn't work, just hope you have a moitor where you can replace the cable.

Years ago a cousin of mine had a flaky EGA cable so when this happened it was the first thing I checked (and given the brief time the only thing I checked) and the cable is solid, no wear, and screwed in tight. Hopefully it was just a one time aberration, I'm not looking forward to the idea of going back to my 14" pos.

How long have you had the monitor? one of my brothers' monitors does the same thing, except in his case, it a permanant condition. The monitor is just green. He does have color, it's just that it looks as if someone draped green celophane in front of it. Apparently it's monitor itself that is causing the green tint. One of the components inside is burnt. My other brother knows how to fix the problem, but it means toying around inside the monitor itself, and replacing components. I'll ask him next time I see him what it is exactly that you need to look for.

Thanks I appreciate it. As for age I've had the monitor for 2 years.
