Here got a question for anyone on this. I've been thinking of switching to this AT&T U-Verse thing that they have out there. Where you get the TV Channels over your phone line type deal. Right now I have cable and while the provider (Charter) is pretty rock solid in service terms (little to no outages) and I get my internet connection at a nice 5mpbs constant day and night im a little worried if I switch I'll be getting screwed.
But whats getting to me is well... the price of the cable. I get limited channels (check), I do not run a box currently and with there lovely recent swithc they got rid of some nice channels that was on normal cable before... like the TV Guide channel.. i mean come on. Anyways paying a good price for it and I could switch over to AT&T's service paying either exactly the same or slightly cheaper but at least being fully digital and ready for the future (hopefully a new TV in due time). If I would switch I'd be getting probably the basic package some like 100 Channels, maybe go for the 160 Channel package since it has alot of the other Discovery channels and that and a DVR since I'd be loosing mine if I went this route.
1 Big, and I mean big draw back to this and not sure 100% how it is today. Is if I switch, I'd be moving my cable over, benifit of this is that it would be similar advertised speed but same if not slightly cheaper in price for my overal TV/Internet package. Downside is I'm not sure how U-Verse will affect the DSL speeds, or even at that im not even sure if I could use Vonage on there network (our current home phone service)
