I am building another system with the Asus Rampage Extreme with the ROG cooler in it, last time I ripped it out and put in my own stuff.. I wanted to leave it in this time. The system will use a 9550 cpu I think, not sure yet. However I wanted to put in a loop like below but wanted to get some advice. (Only low to moderate OC planned atm)

Will this work okay? I am not looking for anything extreme. :shrug:
Thanks,

i would suggest going from the cpu to the nb instead of using y fittings. they have a tendency to cause preasure and flow problems.

Usually I agree that parallel flow loops are not the best choice. However, I have recently found the Swiftech "F" fittings to work fine for moderate cooling on the smaller leg - in this case 1/4" tubing. If you're willing to down-size to 1/4" I'd say go for it!
If not then I'll have to stick with the majority and say go with a serial set-up. I'd recommend 3/8" tubing from the CPU to the NB. You really don't loose much, if anything, using 3/8" tubing for that one, short run since the 3/8" tubing won't have nearly as much restriction for the 180° bend as 1/2" tubing will. It just about breaks even restriction wise and the 3/8" is much easier to bend ...

The down sizing to 3/8 plus the bend would not create more back pressure within the cpu block?
I since the NB comes with those ugly adapters, I was going to use them in serial and use all 1/2" tubing..

By the time you either;
1) Add a couple of 1/2" 90° elbows, or
2) Make a curve in 1/2" tubing with a large enough radius to make 180° w/out kinking,
you may as well use 3/8" barbs for the CPU block OUT and the NB block IN and make a (relatively) simple 180° with 3/8" tubing. The restriction is going to be about the same any way you go.
If you really want to stick with 1/2" tubing I suggest you get a couple of 90° elbows - at least it'll look clean that way ... :)
