Hey guys I have an overclocked 3850 that seems to be doing well but when i run rivatuner and check the GPU information out im only using 35-40% usually... Just wondering if theres a way to increase this? I'm using the command version and I have the settings setup for idle/100% usage.
thanks!
THe ATI cards require a fast cpu, SSE2 capable (I don't know if they have a working client out without this requirement) to keep them fed. What cpu do you have feeding the 3850. My FX-53 @ 2.6 GHz is able to run the 3850 AGP at over 90% per GPU-Z.

i have 4600+ oced to 3.1 ghz :-/
4600+ has a 512 MB/core cache? The benchmark machine and the FX-53 have 1MB/core caches, which could make a difference. How many ppd are you seeing. THe benchmark machine ATI Radeon 3850 GPU (512 MB, 320 Stream Processors), running in a Dell Inspiron 531, with a 2.16 GHz dual core AMD 64 X2 4000+) makes 1500 ppd. You should be close to that.
On further research, I think the benchmark machine has 512MB/core. That might explain why the 3850 AGP makes 2000+ ppd on the FX-53.

Hmmmm and that happens just for ATI?
Nvidia is less CPU starved?

FahMon (www.fahmon.net) is a pretty good tool.
Once you've installed it and started it, you can right click in the screen to add new client. Name it and then navigate to and select:
\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\folding@home
Click okay and you should be good to go!
