this is probably not news to many of you but i got an athlon xp1600 the other day and its green. anyone else seen these?

actually it's a comp i'm building for a friend. i'll have my xp1600 soon tho.

At the store we have green 1600 and 1900, it is just a new fab process. They are a new stepping though.

I just got a green XP 1600+, too... What is that made of? Fiberglass?

It's definitely a different material... more like a plastic (i.e. fiberglass).

i hope they make the 2200+xps green, they look cool..
altho you wouldnt be able to see it, but id still want one..

I asked the owner of a local comp shop recently why some of the XPs were green instead of copper. He told me that all of the XPs from now on will be green. He said it was how AMD was starting to differentiate between the XPs and MPs. MPs will continue to be copper, while XPs will all be green. Not sure if it's correct, but it sounds plausible to me.
