I have a question about ppga-to-slot 1 adapters. I just received an order I'd placed awhile back for a fcpga celeron 900MHz and what was supposed to have been a generic a fcpga-to-slot 1 adapter. However, I was sent a ppga-to-slot 1 adapter instead and I'm wondering if this will work just the same.

It seems I read something once that you shouldn't use a ppga-to-slot 1 in place of a fcpga-to-slot 1 adapter. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

PPGA and FC-PGA CPUs have slightly different pinouts. You can't us an FC-PGA CPU like yours with a PPGA only slotket. If your slotket doesn't have a jumper to select between PPGA (Celeron) and FC-PGA (Coppermine), it won't work with your CPU.

Thanks Dave!

I guess I'll be sending this back then.
